Most home cleanouts and remodels fit a 15 or 20-yard container; heavy debris like concrete, dirt and shingles goes in a 10 or 15-yard because of weight; renovations and new builds take a 30 or 40-yard. Describe the job and we size it on the phone, or see our dumpster sizes page.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What size dumpster do I need?
- How much does dumpster rental cost in Aurora? We quote one flat price up front based on the container size and the material. It includes delivery, the rental period, pickup and a disposal weight allowance; the only possible extra is the per-ton overage rate we state on the same quote. Call (720) 343-7409 for a number in one call.
- Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Aurora?Aurora does not allow dumpsters on the public street at all. On private property, including the driveway, the City says placement may be considered through its Temporary Use Permit program ($85.25 application fee, Permit Center 303.739.7420). It publishes no time limit for a driveway container, so for a long rental we check with the Permit Center. Our permit guide covers Denver and every other city we serve.
- How fast can you deliver?Call before noon and we can usually deliver the same afternoon across Aurora, east Denver, Commerce City and Glendale. Otherwise, the next day.
- How long can I keep the dumpster? Most home rentals run three to seven days, and contractors keep containers for weeks with swaps. Tell us the dates when you book; if your HOA sets a limit, we set the pickup to fit.
- What can’t go in the dumpster?Electronics such as TVs and computers, which Colorado bans from landfills, plus whole tires, liquids, paint, household chemicals and asbestos. Paint goes to PaintCare; Aurora residents can have household chemicals picked up by Waste Management’s At Your Door program for $10. Our guide lists where each item goes.
- Where does the waste go?To permitted disposal and recycling facilities, such as the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site on South Gun Club Road in Aurora, which is owned by the City and County of Denver, operated by Waste Management and accepts construction and demolition debris. Electronics, tires, appliances and paint are routed to recycling.
- Will the dumpster damage my driveway? We set the container down rather than dragging it and put boards under the rails on request. Tell us if the surface is new or decorative and we will plan the placement around it.
- What are the rules in Denver, Thornton and the other cities? Each one is different. Denver requires a DOTI permit for any container in the right-of-way, pulled by the container company. Thornton uses a no-fee traffic control permit for single-family homes, Broomfield needs a container permit after 24 hours on the street, Lochbuie allows 72 hours before a permit, and Bennett bans dumpsters from its streets. Commerce City, Federal Heights and Glendale want the City’s specific approval. Each service-area page gives the details.
- Do you offer junk removal as well as dumpsters?Yes. Our junk removal crew loads, hauls and disposes of furniture, appliances and whole-house cleanouts, priced by the load with a firm quote on site.
- How much space does the truck need?About 60 feet of straight clearance to back in and roll the container off, and roughly 14 feet of overhead clearance, free of low wires and branches. Send a photo of the spot if you are unsure.
- Can I fill it above the top?No. The load must be level with the top rail so the truck can tarp it and travel legally. We will ask you to level an overfilled container before we haul it.
- What happens if I go over the weight allowance? You pay the per-ton overage rate we quoted when you booked, nothing more. Light loads rarely get near the allowance; heavy loads are why we size concrete, dirt and shingles into smaller containers.
- Do you serve outside Aurora?Yes: east Denver, Commerce City, Brighton, Thornton, Northglenn, Federal Heights, Broomfield, Henderson, Watkins, Bennett, Strasburg, Byers, Glendale and Lochbuie. See the service area.
